Thousands rallied in Tirana on Sunday, Oct. 18, as protests over university conditions, tuition fees and corruption concerns entered a sixth day, France 24 reported Monday.

The demonstrators called for Prime Minister Edi Rama to resign. Reuters had reported earlier in the week that Rama would not step down; EconoTimes covered that position as protests reached their fifth day in its earlier report on the demonstrations.

France 24 reported that violence had accompanied the protests in Tirana since Oct. 13.
