‘Transformers: The Last Knight’ released a new set video featuring footage of Michael Bay at work behind-the-scenes. Meanwhile, a new Times Square banner showed Optimus Prime battling with a yet identified three-headed monster.
Paramount Pictures recently released a new set video featuring behind-the-scenes footage with director Michael Bay. The video, posted on Comingsoon.net, showed the filmmaker in action as he directed his trademark scenes almost always with explosives. It showed a shot of Bumblebee and numerous other vehicles including police cars and a helicopter.
Bay returned to helm the fifth installment in the blockbuster action franchise based on Hasbro and Tomy’s toy line of the same name. He directed lead actor Shia LaBeouf in the first three films namely 2007’s ‘Transformers’, 2009’s ‘Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen’, and 2011’s ‘Transformers: Dark of the Moon’. He then directed new lead actor Mark Wahlberg in 2014’s ‘Transformers: Age of Extinction’.
Although he previously admitted he was done with the franchise, he returned for a fifth time. He said that ‘Transformers: The Last Knight’ would be his final directing stint in the cinematic series. A Bumblebee spin-off film is slated for 2018 while another ‘Transformers’ film is scheduled for 2019.
Although the series received mixed reviews from critics, it is currently the ninth highest-grossing film series to date. According to The Numbers, Bay’s four films earned a total of $3.77 billion in the worldwide box office.
Wahlberg is set to reprise his role as lead human protagonist Cade Yeager. He is joined by Laura Haddock, Anthony Hopkins, Josh Duhamel, Isabela Moner, Santiago Cabrera, Tyrese Gibson, John DiMaggio, and Ken Watanabe among others. Peter Cullen is also returning to lend his voice to lead character Optimus Prime.
According to We Got This Covered, Optimus Prime is seen fighting off what seems to be a fierce three-headed monster in the new banner posted on Times Square. Although not much is known about this new monster, it was speculated that the creature may be one of Megatron’s subordinates based on the Decepticon flag also featured in the banner.
‘Transformers: The Last Knight’ is an upcoming science-fiction action film scheduled to premiere in theaters on June 23, 2017. It is the direct sequel to 2014’s ‘Age of Extinction’ and is helmed by Michael Bay in his last directorial duties in the series. It is produced under Hasbro Studios and di Bonaventura Pictures and distributed by Paramount Pictures.
