President Donald Trump accused Iran of fabricating “fake hits” and mines to push up global oil prices before U.S. midterm elections in a Thursday Truth Social post.
Trump said oil flows through the Hormuz Strait had exceeded their pre-conflict level but did not say where the alleged hits or mines occurred.
Reuters reported Brent crude ended Oct. 20 lower as traders assessed diplomatic contacts involving Iran alongside risks to Middle East energy supplies. EconoTimes previously covered the euro and oil moves that day.
