US President Donald Trump said Monday that he is willing to participate in a trilateral meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin, with nuclear weapons and denuclearization potentially taking center stage in discussions.

Speaking to reporters outside the White House on October 19, Trump expressed openness to holding talks with the leaders of China and Russia as part of broader efforts to address global nuclear security concerns.

"We would have it to talk about nuclear weapons and denuclearization," Trump said, outlining a possible agenda for the proposed three-way meeting.

The US president also indicated that China's willingness to participate would be important in determining whether the discussions move forward.

"If President Xi wants to have it, I'd have it," Trump told reporters.

Trump's remarks followed comments from the Kremlin earlier Monday suggesting that the three leaders could meet on the sidelines of next month's Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit in China.

According to the Kremlin, the possibility of a trilateral meeting involving Trump, Putin and Xi had already been raised during discussions. However, no formal agreement or confirmed schedule for such a meeting has been announced.

A potential Trump-Xi-Putin summit would bring together the leaders of three major nuclear powers at a time when international attention remains focused on nuclear arms control, strategic stability and global security.

The proposed discussions could provide an opportunity to address nuclear weapons policies and explore areas of cooperation among Washington, Beijing and Moscow. Nevertheless, the scope of any negotiations would depend on whether all three governments agree to participate.

The possibility of renewed diplomatic engagement could also attract attention from global financial markets, particularly investors monitoring geopolitical tensions and their potential effects on stocks, currencies, gold and other safe-haven assets.

However, no specific market reaction has been established from Trump's latest denuclearization comments, and any financial implications remain uncertain.

For now, the proposed trilateral summit remains a possibility rather than a confirmed diplomatic event. Investors and international observers will be watching for official announcements from the United States, China and Russia regarding potential talks during the upcoming APEC summit.
