A Tuesday quote put spot gold at $3,899.78 an ounce, below the $3,900 level it had cleared in a separate Sunday update, as its reported intraday decline reached 1.18%.
The Tuesday price was 22 cents under $3,900. Both the price and the percentage decline describe a point during the trading session, rather than a daily close.
In a Sunday market update, EconoTimes recorded a $3,902.08-an-ounce quote at 6:31 p.m. ET (23:31 UTC), alongside a reported daily gain of 0.69%. That reading placed gold above the threshold before Tuesday’s below-$3,900 quote.
An earlier Friday update had quoted spot gold at $3,892.78 an ounce and reported a 3.19% decline for that session. The Friday, Sunday and Tuesday prices are separate observations taken at different times.
