The Japanese arm of Tully’s Coffee is tapping the help of iconic cartoon characters Tom and Jerry for the sakura-inspired cherry blossom offerings.
The seasonal lineup offers two drinks, one of which is the coffee-based strawberry cafe latte that sells for 693 yen. It is made with condensed milk, coffee, a sakura-flavored sauce, and strawberry chocolate curls that look like cherry blossom petals.
The other is the peach tea au lait, priced at 693 yen, which has white peach sauce, black tea, and sakura sauce.
Both drinks are available in hot or iced versions.
There’s also a 495 yen hot dog topped with fried onion and dripping in mature cheddar and cheese sauce, which is inspired by Jerry's love of cheese.
For dessert, there’s a cheese mousse cake with strawberry accents and shaped like a slice of cheese, which costs 517 yen, and a sakura chocolate souffle cake complete with seasonally-appropriate Tom and Jerry decoration for 792 yen.
The treats February 10 release coincided with the date when Tom and Jerry first appeared in a cartoon back in 1940.
Some extra menu items will be released from Feb 24, such as the 539 yen Tom and Jerry sandwich.
Some of the items come with a QR code allowing customers to witness a special Tom and Jerry AR experience on their smartphones.
The items can be picked up in-store or via Tully Japan’s online shop.
