Turkey’s consumer sentiment index rose in January from December. According to the Turkish Statistical Institute and Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey, the consumer confidence index rose 5.6 percent sequentially to 66.9 in January from December’s 63.4. The final situation expectation of household index rose 2.9 percent as compared with the earlier month. It rose to 87.9, indicating an upswing in the financial situation expectation of households in the coming 12 months.
The general economic situation expectation index rose 3 percent in January to 88.6 from December’s 86. This rise indicates that the number of households anticipating a better general economic situation in the coming 12 months rose as compared to the previous month.

The probability of saving index rose 34 percent to 22.4 in January from 16.7 in the prior month. The rise indicates that the likelihood of saving consumers in the coming 12 months period increased when compared to the previous month.
