The U.K. Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) is inviting views on Intersurgical AG's anticipated acquisition of two Teleflex Incorporated businesses as it examines possible effects on competition in Britain.
The deal covers Teleflex's acute care and interventional urology businesses. Under the transaction described by the CMA, Armira Capital and TA Associates would acquire control of Intersurgical after that purchase.
The CMA lists the case in the healthcare and medical equipment sector. It said the parties have provided the information needed to begin pre-notification, the stage before a formal Phase 1 investigation.
The regulator opened its invitation for comments on Oct. 20 to gather initial views from interested parties. It has not yet launched a formal investigation into the transaction.
The CMA says it will update the case record when Phase 1 begins. Interested parties have until Nov. 3 to submit written comments about the deal's potential effect on U.K. competition.
