U.S. spot Bitcoin (BTC) ETFs took in $526.7 million on Oct. 19, Farside Investors’ data show, even as Glassnode placed Bitcoin near $82,000, about 2% below a week earlier.
Farside’s table shows U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded $228.4 million in net withdrawals from Oct. 12 through Oct. 16. A $261.4 million outflow on Oct. 14 outweighed inflows on other days in the period. The Oct. 19 ETF flow reversal left the funds with a net $88 million outflow for October through that date. EconoTimes previously covered the October ETF balance.
Farside’s figures track flows into and out of funds, while Glassnode’s spot-taker measure compares buyer-initiated and seller-initiated trades on centralized exchanges. For the week through Oct. 18, that measure was minus $83.6 million, compared with minus $67 million the previous week. The more negative reading indicated that sellers were more aggressive. Glassnode linked the weak spot signal to limited fresh buying.
The indicators cover different periods and activity: Farside’s latest ETF figure is for Oct. 19, while Glassnode’s spot-trading reading runs through Oct. 18. The data therefore describe separate market channels, rather than the same session’s fund flows and exchange trades.
Glassnode’s ratio of realized profits to losses also fell to 0.4 from 0.8, indicating that profit-taking had eased relative to loss-taking. On Oct. 4, profitable Bitcoin holders with positions less than 155 days old supplied 86% of Bitcoin exchange inflow volume, a one-year high compared with a usual share below 40%. Bitcoin finished Oct. 4 above $85,000 and later retreated. The measure tracks coins arriving at exchange wallets, not completed trades.
