U.S.-headquartered crypto and blockchain firms received 73.5% of the capital Galaxy Research tracked in Q2 2026, while later-stage companies took about 78% of the $5.683 billion total.

The figures cover crypto and blockchain startups and private companies in Galaxy’s dataset. Funding rose 31% from the first quarter, and deal volume increased 10% to 384 transactions.

U.S.-headquartered companies represented 39.1% of deals and received 73.5% of the capital in the data. Their share of funding was substantially larger than their share of transactions.

Later-stage firms received about 78% of the quarter’s capital. Pre-seed and seed rounds accounted for 39.8% of deals, leaving early-stage transactions as a substantial part of activity even as most funding went to more mature companies.

Galaxy’s Trading/Exchange/Investing/Lending category led its breakdown at about $3.523 billion. The figure was the largest among the categories in the report.

Five new crypto venture funds secured roughly $3.9 billion in investor commitments in Q2. Galaxy recorded the fewest new funds in a quarter since 2019. The commitments measure money raised by funds, separate from Galaxy’s total for investment in companies. Galaxy associated the low fund count with the broader economic climate and the 2022-23 crypto downturn. It also said artificial-intelligence investment and other digital-asset vehicles competed for investor attention.

FinDaS’ separate monthly Web3 series, based on DefiLlama data, counted 48 funding rounds in September 2026. The 39 rounds with disclosed amounts totaled $1.05 billion. Both figures were below FinDaS’ averages for the preceding 12 months: 66.8 rounds and $2.01 billion per month. FinDaS said the September count may rise as recently announced rounds are added to its database.
