U.S. President Donald Trump said Sunday that the United States would not strike Iran that day, setting an immediate limit on military action amid a conflict that also drew attention to Hormuz shipping.
Trump told reporters, “There will not be a strike today.” Iran said another round of U.S.-Israeli attacks would not change the outcome of earlier rounds.
U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) said American forces assisted more than 3,000 commercial vessels crossing the Strait of Hormuz during the previous six months.
Al Jazeera reported that Israeli forces raided Hebron, displacing thousands of people. The outlet also reported tighter restrictions across the West Bank.
Earlier, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said Tehran would maintain its policies whether or not fighting resumed and that changes to Hormuz shipping and governance would remain after what he called a 40-day war. Araghchi’s earlier comments on Iran policy and Hormuz shipping covered those remarks.
