An aid shipment of 10,000 bags from the Sheikh Saeed bin Zayed Al Nahyan Endowment reached Al Arish, Egypt, before transfer to Gaza, WAM said in a dispatch carried by Aletihad on Oct. 31.
The Endowment contributed the bags to the “Winter Clothing” initiative under Operation Chivalrous Knight 3, WAM said in an Oct. 27 announcement. Together, the kits contain 70,000 clothing and heating items. WAM said the initiative aims to support one million beneficiaries in Gaza.
Students and community volunteers packed the bags at Mohamed bin Zayed University for Humanities. At the UAE aid logistics center in Al Arish, Operation Chivalrous Knight 3 personnel are preparing the shipment for its onward journey, the dispatch said.
Separately, the Emirates Red Crescent said it was providing AED50 million in winter and medical assistance for Gaza, WAM reported Oct. 28. The announcement listed clothing, blankets, food parcels, shelter tents, medicines and medical supplies; EconoTimes previously covered the separate winter and medical aid package.
