HM Treasury is finalizing a First Time Buyer ISA after consultation respondents gave conditional support to the proposed account, which is designed to help first-time buyers buy homes and replace the Lifetime ISA once available.

The department added its response summary to GOV.UK on Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2026. The consultation ran from June 22 to Aug. 18 that year.

Respondents stressed that the new account should fit existing ISA infrastructure. They also called for clear communication with customers and a design that remains simple and stable. The department said it drew on the feedback while deciding the product’s policy and delivery plans.
