The US 10-year Treasury yield fell 0.15 percentage point over the week to 5% on Oct. 26, according to the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis's FRED database.
All four maturities tracked were below their week-earlier and month-earlier levels. The 30-year yield recorded the largest weekly decline, while the two-year yield had the largest drop over the month.
The 10-year yield stood at 5.15% on Oct. 19 and 5.18% on Sept. 24. Its decline over the month was 0.18 percentage point, slightly larger than its weekly fall.
The two-year note yielded 4.68%, down from 4.77% a week earlier and 4.87% a month earlier. Those changes amounted to declines of 0.09 percentage point and 0.19 percentage point, respectively.
The gap between the 10-year and two-year yields was positive at 0.32 percentage point on Oct. 26. The 10-year yield remained above the two-year yield on all three observation dates.
That spread narrowed from positive 0.38 percentage point a week earlier because the 10-year yield fell more than the two-year yield. It was slightly wider than positive 0.31 percentage point a month earlier.
The 30-year bond yielded 5.31%, compared with 5.48% on Oct. 19 and 5.47% on Sept. 24. It fell 0.17 percentage point over the week and 0.16 percentage point over the month.
The three-month bill yielded 4.22%, down from 4.27% a week earlier and 4.24% a month earlier. Its declines of 0.05 percentage point and 0.02 percentage point were the smallest among the four maturities.
The ordering of those yields held across the three dates: the three-month bill had the lowest yield, followed by the two-year note, 10-year note and 30-year bond.
The 10-year breakeven rate, the gap between nominal and inflation-indexed Treasury yields, was 2.34%, FRED figures showed. It edged down from 2.35% a week earlier but rose from 2.33% a month earlier.
Those changes were 0.01 percentage point in each direction. The breakeven rate therefore moved much less than the nominal 10-year Treasury yield over both comparison periods.
The 10-year inflation-indexed yield, the yield on Treasury debt whose principal adjusts with inflation, was 2.66%. It fell from 2.80% a week earlier and 2.85% a month earlier.
Its weekly decline was 0.14 percentage point, close to the nominal yield's 0.15 percentage point fall. Over the month, the inflation-indexed yield dropped 0.19 percentage point, compared with the nominal yield's 0.18 percentage point decline.
