US job prospects likely brightened further in October

US JOLTS job openings in the month of October are expected to rise to 55,00,000 by the consensus, slightly dropping from that of its previous month's 5526000. However, there are mixed expectations on the job openings, they are expected to rise by some banks and analysts, as the online job openings soared last month.

The job openings were very little changed in September at 5.5mn at a rate of 3.7%. They rose in professional and business services and retail trade but were little changed in total private and government jobs.

"Job prospects probably brightened further in October. Echoing a reported jump in the Conference Board's online help-wanted advertising series, the Bureau of Labor Statistics' (BLS) tally of available positions likely climbed by 144K to 5.67 million ...", says Societe Generale in a research note.
