Ukraine’s Mission to NATO said Ukraine pressed allies for new defense decisions and practical follow-through on earlier pledges at an extraordinary council meeting in Brussels on Thursday.

The Mission said Kyiv asked governments to approve further assistance and make earlier pledges tangible through equipment shipments or funding.

At NATO headquarters in Brussels, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte chaired the session. Sergiy Boyev attended in person, while Serhii Sobko briefed representatives of allied countries remotely, the Mission said.

Ukraine described threats posed by Russia and presented defense requirements for the immediate period and the longer term, according to the Mission. It asked allies to address those needs through new decisions as well as action on earlier pledges.

The Mission pointed to the next Ukraine Defense Contact Group session, scheduled for Nov. 17 and set to be led by the United Kingdom and Germany.
