LINCOLN, Neb., Aug. 21, 2017 -- Unite Private Networks (UPN), a leading provider of high-capacity, fiber-based communication networks announced today a partnership with ESU 5 and the Homestead National Monument of America to provide increased connectivity to the Heritage Center for visitors viewing the total solar eclipse.
The Homestead National Monument of America located in Beatrice, Nebraska is a prime eclipse viewing location, in fact USA Today listed the Homestead National Monument as one of the top 10 places to view the solar eclipse in the United States. NASA will be broadcasting live from the Heritage Center, and Bill Nye the Science Guy, New Mexico State University representatives, and local and national news stations are expected to be in attendance.
“Total solar eclipses are extremely rare events, and we are thrilled to be able to help make the experience better for the large number of visitors expected to watch the eclipse at the Heritage Center,” said Cliff McDow Regional Sales Director for Unite Private Networks. “Our advanced fiber-optic infrastructure throughout the city of Beatrice enabled UPN to upgrade bandwidth capacity quickly and effectively.”
“The solar eclipse will be a once-in-a-lifetime event for many of us at Homestead National Monument of America, and we want to provide the best experience possible for everyone attending,” said Diane Vicars, president of the Friends of Homestead National Monument of America. “Unite Private Networks has increased bandwidth to the park in order to handle the increased traffic we expect to see due to the eclipse. We can’t thank them enough for their help in allowing us to live stream this event.”
