Dubai’s Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (VARA) lists Bybit Fintech FZE’s license as active and dates its issuance to June 20, 2026, about four months before Bybit announced it on Oct. 22.

VARA classifies the authorization as Exchange Services and says the affiliate can serve institutional, qualified and retail investors. EconoTimes previously covered the regulator’s active listing of the license.

The register does not specify spot products or derivatives separately. Bybit said in its Oct. 22 announcement that the license covers spot trading in crypto assets.

Peter Loo, Bybit’s chief legal and compliance officer, said the firm hopes to add derivative trading under a broader authorization, subject to regulatory approval. The announcement set no date for the proposed expansion.

Dubai has served as the base for Bybit’s international headquarters since 2022. The license followed VARA’s preliminary approval in 2024.
