Valencia CF announced Oct. 23 that Pitchwise Holdings will take a 42% stake and provide €100 million in new capital, adding funding while Meriton Holdings keeps majority control.
The club said the capital will be immediately available for direct investment once the deal closes. It did not specify how the money will be spent or disclose the price Pitchwise will pay Meriton for its shares.
Valencia set its enterprise value at €1.25 billion. Valencia said the valuation includes its men’s and women’s teams, Mestalla, which seats 49,000, and plans for Nou Mestalla, designed to accommodate more than 70,000 fans.
The announcement builds on EconoTimes’ earlier coverage of the planned stake sale and valuation. Valencia identified sports executives Ann Rodriguez and Corey Woolfolk as Pitchwise’s leaders and said the consortium draws on private family offices and long-term institutional investors. Its backers include KKR co-founders George Roberts and Henry Kravis, as well as Penner Sports Group.
Valencia CF President Kiat Lim will remain in his position. Rodriguez and Woolfolk will join him in a new ownership group, which the club said will oversee the move to Nou Mestalla. Valencia called the stadium transition its most significant milestone in 100 years; the announcement gave no date for the move. Lim said the investors bring “long-term investment expertise and sports acumen.”
The investment still needs to meet closing requirements, including regulatory approvals. Valencia gave no timetable for completion.
