Verlingue Portugal will serve as the Worldwide Broker Network’s representative in Portugal, a role the French insurance broker says will help clients manage insurance needs across borders as businesses expand internationally.
Verlingue says the arrangement is intended to support Portuguese companies building operations overseas and multinational businesses active in Portugal or the Iberian Peninsula. Cooperation with other WBN members is meant to help customers coordinate insurance coverage across the markets where they operate.
The broker links the arrangement to the challenges of doing business in more countries. Verlingue says international expansion and increasingly complex risks create demand for local expertise and coordination across markets.
Vincent Harel, Verlingue’s CEO, said businesses need a “global vision with local expertise.” He added: “Our European offices, our sector-specific expertise, and our global partner network enable us to support their international growth.”
Verlingue says the role supports Adelaïde Group’s Better Future 28 strategy, which aims to make Verlingue Europe’s leading independent, family-owned insurance broker. The company says its group has been part of WBN since the network began in 1989.
WBN describes itself as a network owned by its members. It says brokers from nine countries established the organization. Its website lists more than 150 insurance brokerage and employee-benefits firms in more than 115 countries, with a workforce exceeding 80,000 and annual premium placements above $123 billion.
Verlingue says its teams are based in France, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Portugal and Italy. It also works with independent broker partners in more than 100 countries.
Verlingue Portugal says WBN’s annual conference is scheduled to take place in Lisbon from Wednesday to Friday, Oct. 21-23, 2026. The company expects network representatives to discuss insurance, risk management and employee benefits.
