‘Vikings’ season 4’s episode 18, titled “Revenge,” is set to follow Ragnar’s sons as they prepare to ravage Northumbria in an impending battle against King Aelle to avenge their father’s death.
The brief synopsis for episode 18 posted on TV Guide reads, “Ragnar's (Travis Fimmel) plan is realized; the Viking army alights on the coast of Northumbria.”
The promo for “Revenge” teases one of the biggest battles to ever hit the series as the fallen king Ragnar Lothbrok’s sons prepare to avenge their father’s death. Ragnar died after being thrown into a pit of snakes by King Aelle (Ivan Kaye). The incoming episode will feature an impending war between the Norse warriors and King Aelle’s troops in Northumbria.
Meanwhile, a second teaser posted on Inquisitr also hinted at conflict between brothers Bjorn Ironside (Alexander Ludwig) and Ivar the Boneless (Alex Hogh). It seems that Lagertha’s son would not allow his younger half-brother to lead the battle in Northumbria. Bjorn and Ivar’s siblings Ubbe (Jordan Patrick Smith), Sigurd (David Lindström), and Hvitserk (Marco Ilsø) will also be present for the expected bloodshed.
In the promo, Bjorn insists, “I will establish the battle plan and I will give the orders!” He then screams at a smirking Ivar, “I’m the leader of this great hunt! Me!” The scene suggests that the younger Viking may have something else in mind. Ivar was presented a chariot in the preceding episode, which hinted his rise as one of the greatest Viking leader in history.
The next scene shows the Great Heathen army marching into Northumbria much to the dismay of the proud King Aelle, who looks anxious when he receives the news.
‘Vikings’ season 4’s episode 18, titled “Revenge,” is scheduled to air on History on January 18, 2017. It will be followed by episode 19, titled "On the Eve," scheduled for January 25.
