ORLANDO, Fla., April 04, 2018 -- Violet Defense Technology has received notification from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) that they are progressing toward an allowance for its U.S. Patent Application 15/437,199.

Violet Defense Technology already represents a significant breakthrough in destroying harmful germs. This was recently demonstrated with its launch of the S.A.G.E. (Surface & Air Germ Elimination) line of products that have the ability to kill up to 99.9% of bacteria and viruses, including superbugs like MRSA at distance. Violet Defense Technology is protected by an extensive IP portfolio, consisting of patents and patents pending in the U.S. and 43 countries around the world. The latest patent protection focuses on the energy efficiency of the company’s innovative approach, including its unique design of coupling the light source with a specialized lens.
“We are pleased that we have achieved this significant milestone to further expand our Patent portfolio, allowing us to continue to introduce cutting-edge technology advancements in photonics, which can be leveraged into significant energy efficiency and cost savings, even when compared to competing LED products,” said Mark Nathan, CEO for Violet Defense.
Violet Defense has already determined that the applications for this technology reach far beyond its original focus on disinfection. The improved efficiency of our products can mean incredible energy savings for lighting, particularly for lights used in the agricultural industry as indoor and urban farming continue to expand. Electricity costs for many indoor grow lights have been exorbitant and growers also often experience degradation of the lenses that results in higher operating costs, frequent bulb replacement, or even premature failure – all of which are reduced by Violet Defense technology.
As such, the announcement coincides with the launch of Violet Defense’s sister company, Violet Gro. This new agricultural lighting company seeks to provide the optimized light spectrum and intensity plants need for healthy yields, without increasing ongoing operating expenses.
Violet Gro will offer tailored and more energy-efficient lighting options that require less electricity to operate and less cooling of the grow environment to increase cost-effectiveness and sustainability. The patented design will also enable Violet Gro to incorporate the use of UV-A and UV-B directly into the product, which based on multiple research studies have been shown to increase plant production of flavonoids and cannabinoids, as well as help control mold, mildew, and certain pests.
About Violet Defense Technology:
Founded in 2012, Violet Defense Technology is on a journey to find new ways to protect people from harmful germs that have grown resistant to traditional forms of cleaning and disinfecting. Its Patented method uses the proven power of germ-killing light, including UV and violet blue light, to fight the war against bacteria, viruses, fungi, and bacterial spores without the use of chemicals. Its Patented technology miniaturizes the deployment of germ-killing light to integrate into almost any product or environment. For more information on Violet Defense Technology and the S.A.G.E. UV anti-microbial line, visit www.violetdefense.com.
About Violet Gro
Violet Gro brings together Violet Defense’s Patented technology with cutting-edge design to optimize plant growth in indoor growing. The right lighting plays a critical role in the ability to grow healthy, viable plants, but Violet Gro also believes in focusing on the system economics of growing. Our lighting designs - create a more cost-effective, long-term solution to indoor agriculture by giving you more light and less heat, which results in less energy cost.
