RESTON, Va., Jan. 30, 2018 -- Carahsoft Technology Corp., The Trusted Government IT Solutions Provider™, today announced that it has been named an official distributor for Bromium, Inc., the leader in virtualization-based security that delivers application isolation and containment as specified by the NSA. Under the agreement, Carahsoft will distribute Bromium Secure Platform and associated products, making the company’s defense-grade cybersecurity available to the public sector and partner ecosystem via Carahsoft’s GSA schedule and NASA's Solution for Enterprise-Wide Procurement (SEWP).
“Carahsoft’s relationships with the public and private sector make them a great partner for growing our business and protecting the nation’s security,” said Sherban Naum, VP, Public Sector, Bromium. “From specific use cases like stopping malicious email attachments and derailing phishing links to bullet-proof protection across the organization, we protect the host and network from intrusion because end use activities are contained inside a micro-VM, making access to vital information impossible.”
With more than two billion micro-VMs launched around the world, Bromium is a proven solution. Bromium has a foothold in the leading democracies around the world, protecting both private and public sector employees who need to work remotely in hostile environments with unsecured networks.
While the hardware isolated virtual machine is performing the untrusted task on behalf of the user, Bromium isolation is using introspection from the outside to look into the virtual machine. Bromium monitors the virtual machine and looks for any abnormal activity. All this threat intelligence including the entire malware payload is then collected and sent back to the Bromium controller for SOC team analysis. While the forensic detail is important for the SOC team to analyze, the attack never touched the user's host computer.
“Many cyber criminals are using malicious links and attachments to gain unauthorized access to networks and data,” said Steve Jacyna, Director of Emerging Cybersecurity Solutions at Carahsoft. “Through our expanded partnership with Bromium, we are now able to offer our government customers and resellers a solution that securely isolates applications in a virtual environment, enabling users to click or download any link or file without the fear of being compromised.”
“By expanding Carahsoft’s role to include distribution, we will make it easier for reseller partners and end user customers to acquire Bromium’s solutions,” continued Naum. “Email attachments, phishing links, malicious .exe files and Microsoft applications continue to put agencies at risk. We can protect both specifically and globally depending on the level of security required.”
Bromium’s virtualization-based application isolation and containment products are available immediately via Carahsoft’s GSA Schedule No. GS-35F-O119Y and SEWP V contracts NNG15SC03B and NNG15SC27B. Carahsoft has also added Bromium solutions to its National IPA cooperative purchasing agreements, streamlining procurement by state, local and educational institutions in all 50 states; and has also included Bromium on numerous state-specific contracts.
