MALVERN, Pa., Sept. 14, 2017 -- Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. (NYSE:VSH) today introduced the first extended-frequency inductor in the low profile, high current IHLP® family. The new IHLP‑1616BZ-0H series features high frequency performance up to 10 MHz with the lowest losses of any inductor on the market for frequencies of 1 MHz and above. By using the IHLP-1616BZ-0H, designers can improve efficiency and potentially reduce the size of DC/DC converter circuitry.
Typical applications for the IHLP-1616BZ-0H will include notebook and desktop computers, sensors, cameras, POL converters, and various battery powered devices that require one or more regulated voltages. Working in conjunction with high frequency controller ICs, the IHLP-1616BZ-0H allows lower inductance values and thus lower DC losses, as well as reduced high frequency core losses, enabling a physically smaller size of inductor to be used while boosting energy efficiency.
The IHLP-1616BZ-0H series features a typical DCR from 5.5 mΩ to 26.6 mΩ and inductance values from 0.10 µH to 1.0 µH. The IHLP-1616BZ-0H provides rated current to 45.0 A and handles high transient current spikes without saturation.
Packaged in a 100 % lead (Pb)-free shielded, composite construction that reduces buzz noise to ultra low levels, the inductor offers high resistance to thermal shock, moisture, and mechanical shock. The IHLP-1616BZ-0H is RoHS-compliant, halogen-free, and Vishay Green.
Device Specification Table:
| Case size | 1616 |
| Profile (mm) | 2.0 |
| Inductance range (μH) | 0.10 to 1.0 |
| DCR typ. (mΩ) | 5.5 to 26.6 |
| DCR max. (mΩ) | 5.9 to 28.5 |
