WISeSat.Space Holdings Corp. and Kaynes Space Technology Private Limited plan to build quantum-resistant protections into satellites made in India, extending a partnership whose spacecraft choices and deployment timing remain undecided.

In an announcement Tuesday, the firms described development work on satellite identity, command authority, cryptographic key management and software maintenance. They named no spacecraft platform, customer, contract value or deployment date.

Kaynes is expected to provide satellite engineering and manufacturing. SEALSQ Corp.’s security technology is expected to inform the hardware design, while WISeKey would contribute digital identity and Root of Trust capabilities. Planned work includes trusted hardware, post-quantum authentication and key establishment, authenticated commands, secure startup and software updates. Testing would assess performance, interoperability and suitability for space. The Oct. 27 release described these as development objectives and reported no qualification or deployment under the collaboration.

WISeSat says satellites’ long service lives mean operators may need to refresh security protections and cryptographic systems over time. The companies named government communications, industrial internet of things, environmental monitoring, logistics and critical infrastructure as potential applications.

WISeKey’s Jan. 12, 2026, announcement described plans for Kaynes Space Technology to manufacture WISeSat satellites in India and for India to become a launch location alongside the United States. A stock-exchange filing from Kaynes Technology India Limited says it established the space unit on June 26, 2025, as a wholly owned subsidiary for satellite development.

Raghu Panicker, CEO of Kaynes Space Technology, said the goal was “security to be built into satellite platforms from the outset.” Carlos Moreira, founder and chairman of WISeSat.Space, said validated solutions and commercial opportunities could support long-term revenue growth. The companies said they will decide platform choices, milestones and qualification requirements jointly as development advances.
