The World Trade Organization began its third review of Viet Nam’s trade policies on Nov. 4, giving WTO members a forum to examine the country’s trade-related policies and practices.
The review spans sessions on Nov. 4 and 6, 2026. It draws on two documents: a report independently prepared by the WTO Secretariat and a policy statement from Viet Nam’s government.
The WTO’s full membership discusses the reports in its Trade Policy Review Body (TPRB). The organization describes the process as a transparency exercise, where governments can raise questions, exchange views and comment on one another’s trade policies.
All WTO members undergo reviews, but the interval varies with each member’s share of global trade. The largest traders return for review more frequently.
The second session is scheduled for Nov. 6. The chairperson’s final remarks are slated for that date.
