Waves Platform, a crypto-platform for asset/custom token issuance, transfer, and trading on blockchain, announced the launch of US dollar gateway that will allow anyone to deposit and withdraw USD and use the backed token within the Waves ecosystem.
The USD gateway, available within the Waves client enables users to deposit USD through secure gateway, receiving in return a token that is 100% backed by dollar reserves, the release said. These tokens can be held or exchanged for other tokens at low cost as well as can be withdrawn back through the gateway into traditional financial system.
“In due course, gateways for further major currencies will be added, opening opportunities to other areas of the world — including the Chinese market, with a CNY gateway,” the company stated, revealing its future plans.
In addition to the launch of USD gateway, the company has also announced a number of other minor updates including addition of ‘verified’ check mark against the ZrCoin, CryptoPing and PrivateBANKX tokens.
The company stated that as with the EUR gateway, the USD gateway partner is Coinomat.
