White Castle is offering a more robust 1921 Slider and a new Creme Soda variety of Coca-Cola to celebrate its 101st year in business.
It is being rolled out nationwide this week with the exception of New York, which won't see the burger until June.
The 1921 Slider, named after the year the chain was launched, is touted as White Castle's "most significant product innovation since adding a slice of cheese to its Sliders in 1962."
This "new" burger aims to emulate some of White Castle's original 1921 burger's features.
The beef patty is bigger and rounder than the brand's inaugural patties, which were inspired by crushed meatballs. Second, the burger has cheddar cheese, grilled caramelized onions, pickles, lettuce, and a Roma tomato slice on top.
Last year, Cincinnati piloted the new permanent menu item, which was followed by similar trials in St. Louis, Nashville, and Louisville.
Meanwhile, the Coca-Cola Crème Soda will be available exclusively at White Castle before being released to a wider audience at a later date.
The new drink has a familiar Coke flavor with just the right amount of rich crème soda, according to White Castle.
When the chain started, Coca-Cola was the only drink on the menu, and this flavor was created to complement the new burger by creating a nostalgic blend.
Those at White Castle, according to statistics from Coca-Freestyle Cola's machines, already have a preference for creme soda compared to customers at other businesses.
