Whop’s $5.1 billion post-money valuation is more than triple the figure associated with Tether’s February investment, following the company’s $200 million Series D announcement on Oct. 21.

Whop said Sequoia Capital and Shopify Ventures led the financing. The new valuation compares with a $1.6 billion figure associated with Tether’s separate $200 million strategic investment in February.

Based in Palo Alto, California, Whop is an online-business platform. It gives entrepreneurs and small merchants tools to establish online businesses and manage payments, distribution and operations.
