Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike said the Rainbow Coalition would remain active beyond the 2027 presidential election and forecast support for Tinubu among Rivers voters, BusinessDay reported Thursday, Nov. 5.

Wike said he based his forecast on promises he believed Tinubu had fulfilled for the state. At the media chat, Wike defended the Rainbow Coalition, saying it began over two years ago and would remain a good-governance platform after the 2027 presidential election. BusinessDay also reported that Wike questioned Imo State Gov. Hope Uzodimma’s opposition to the movement.

Wike made the comments after a cross-party coalition led by him endorsed Tinubu on Oct. 27 and named candidates for Rivers State contests. EconoTimes previously covered the coalition’s endorsement and candidate slate.

The slate connected support for Tinubu’s presidential bid with candidates running under different party platforms. Wike had also urged Rainbow Coalition youths on Oct. 20 to back Tinubu, in an earlier appeal covered by EconoTimes.
