WinCo Foods LLC is recalling hoagie rolls sold in seven western states because their packaging omits sesame, which may pose a serious risk to people with an allergy or severe sensitivity. The company announcement was posted by the Food and Drug Administration on Oct. 22, and no illnesses have been reported.

The recall applies to WinCo Foods Hoagie Rolls in 16-ounce (454-gram) packages bearing UPC 2-70552-00649-2. Their best-by dates range from Sept. 10 through Nov. 3, 2026. Stores in California, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Utah and Washington received the product.

United States Bakery, the manufacturer, found that sesame flour was missing from both the ingredient list and allergen statement on the packaging. The company warned that sesame exposure could cause a severe allergic reaction, including a life-threatening one, in affected consumers.

Customers with a sesame allergy or severe sensitivity should not eat the rolls. They can return them to a nearby WinCo Foods store for a refund or contact the company’s customer service desk at 1-800-824-1706.
