Wonder, a U.S. food delivery and restaurant operator, said it filed confidentially for an IPO Thursday, Nov. 5, putting its venture-funded expansion on a path toward public markets.
Grubhub and Blue Apron are among Wonder's acquisitions, along with Relay, a provider of delivery and logistics services. Its acquisition spending totals at least $1 billion.
Wonder founder Marc Lore launched the company in 2018. It now runs about 170 locations across the United States. The app supports delivery and takeout orders, while the sites offer food from more than two dozen concepts, some with celebrity-chef names attached.
Wonder has raised more than $3 billion in venture funding. Its Series D round this year came with a pre-money valuation of $9 billion.
In September, Lore described a potential IPO as a source of financing for future acquisitions and a means of advancing Wonder's goal of broader food access.
