World is taking a package of identity checks for Zoom calls and credentials for AI agents to financial firms, naming four design partners as it explores banking uses for the technology.
Alex Blania, a World co-founder, unveiled the finance package at the Money20/20 conference in Las Vegas. Four firms — OpenExchange, Bain Capital, VanEck Funds and Outtake — are design partners studying uses across banking and financial services. It did not identify a bank customer.
The offering has three parts: the World ID app for storing and presenting credentials called Proofs; World ID for Agents, which lets users delegate credentials to an AI agent; and World ID for Zoom, which checks whether a caller is the verified person.
To authenticate a participant, World ID for Zoom checks the live call and a fresh selfie against the reference image from that user's earlier verification at World’s Orb device. World ID for Zoom is now generally available after its limited beta, which began in April. VanEck took part in the beta testing.
The agent tool builds on AgentKit, which launched alongside Coinbase in March and was expanded in June. The company has made the app available in more than 150 countries.
World’s next enterprise presentation is set for Zoomtopia, a virtual conference that opens Tuesday, Oct. 20. The company gave no pricing or rollout schedule for the financial-services package.
