XRP Ledger Activity Metrics Cannot Identify Returning Users

One tally tracks unique senders, while a second also includes activity involving source addresses, destination addresses and destination tags.

XRP Ledger activity metrics cannot establish how many people returned after a period of inactivity because they do not verify account holders or show when addresses last transacted.

An active-account tally records unique sending accounts. A separate active-users tally also includes activity involving the originating and receiving ends of a transaction, plus destination-tag use. The measures describe ledger activity rather than verified headcounts.

Funding status indicates whether an address maps to an account entry, but that entry does not establish the identity of the person behind it. An unfunded address is not an account.

An address used to receive funds for multiple users can rely on destination tags to separate payments. The tag alone does not show who controls the address.
