XRP open interest climbed 12.55% to $440.1 million by 6:01 p.m. ET (23:01 UTC) Nov. 3, the sharpest move among five tracked perpetual-futures markets, while Bitcoin held the largest open-interest total.
The increase put XRP ahead of the other four markets in the 24-hour comparison. Its total remained much smaller than Bitcoin’s $7.69 billion, showing the difference between the biggest percentage move and the largest amount of outstanding contract value. A five-market reading dated Nov. 2 put XRP open interest at $350.6 million.
The other contracts recorded smaller changes. Ether (ETH) contracts had $5.44 billion in open interest after a 3.10% rise, while Bitcoin (BTC) increased 1.26%. Dogecoin (DOGE) gained 1.03% to $202.5 million. Solana (SOL) fell 0.25% to $870.9 million, the only decline among the five.
Accounts on the long side made up 69.8% of XRP’s account count. Solana had the largest long-side share, at 75.3%, even as its open interest declined. These percentages describe how accounts were distributed by direction; they do not measure the dollar value of positions held on either side.
Each contract had a funding rate of 0.0100% for every eight-hour period. With funding above zero, traders holding long positions make periodic payments to short-side traders. The rate identifies which side pays during settlement, while open interest tracks the value of contracts still active.
The open-interest increase indicates that more contract value remained outstanding in XRP futures over the measured period. On its own, that change does not show whether traders expected XRP’s price to rise or fall.
