An Oct. 30 snapshot of options trading in Ether (ETH), Solana (SOL) and XRP showed the strongest call skew in XRP, while Ether was the only asset with more puts than calls.

The trading-volume put-to-call ratio was 0.31 for XRP, 0.87 for Solana and 1.69 for Ether. Ratios below one indicate more call volume than put volume; Ether's figure showed the reverse.

Measured in underlying-token units, Ether put volume was 177,236 ETH against 105,171 ETH in calls. Solana calls totaled 110,140 SOL, compared with 95,470 SOL in puts. XRP call volume reached 3.113 million XRP, while put volume was 956,000 XRP.

Open interest for the listed Oct. 31 Ether and Solana expiries and the Nov. 27 XRP expiry showed ratios of 2.19, 1.00 and 0.27, respectively. Ether's listed expiry had 30,774 ETH in puts and 14,084 ETH in calls. Solana's positions were nearly even, with 14,690 SOL in puts and 14,650 SOL in calls. XRP's listed expiry had 5.193 million XRP in calls and 1.395 million XRP in puts.

Across those listed expiries, open interest represented 44,858 ETH, 29,340 SOL and 6.588 million XRP. The corresponding values were $101.89 million, $2.84 million and $8.21 million. These figures express the underlying-token amounts represented by open positions.

The largest listed positions also differed by asset. Ether's top position was a $2,000 put; Solana's was a $100 call, and XRP's was a $2.20 call. The reported max-pain levels, where option buyers' combined losses would peak at settlement, were $2,280 for Ether, $97 for Solana and $1.32 for XRP.

Ether's volume mix differed from the Oct. 26 snapshot in an earlier EconoTimes report on Ether options, when calls led both open interest and 24-hour trading volume.

Open interest counts options that remain outstanding; trading volume measures activity during a set period. Traders may use calls and puts to hedge, so these ratios alone do not show their full market exposure. The listed expiries were scheduled for Oct. 31 for Ether and Solana, and Nov. 27 for XRP.
