Power cuts in Crimea and Ukraine followed attacks on energy infrastructure, while Yaroslavl officials said a strike hit an oil refinery and injured two workers.

Yaroslavl Region Gov. Mikhail Yevrayev said an overnight attack hit the Slavneft-Yanos refinery and left two workers injured. He provided no estimate of the damage. The Moscow Times reported that regional authorities attributed the attack to Ukrainian drones.

The refinery is jointly owned by Rosneft and Gazprom. The Moscow Times put its daily crude-processing capacity at 300,000 barrels. An earlier EconoTimes report had identified the refinery as a possible target but did not confirm it was hit.

Kremlin-installed authorities in Crimea blamed Ukrainian attacks on the regional grid for emergency electricity cuts in at least five cities, The Moscow Times reported. Russia’s Defense Ministry said it intercepted 856 drones it identified as Ukrainian from Monday night into Tuesday morning in Russia and annexed Crimea. Officials also said more than half were directed toward Moscow and nearby areas.

Ukraine’s Energy Ministry said damage to energy facilities spanned 10 regions, while emergency outages affected Kyiv and six surrounding regions. Russia’s military said four power plants and two substations were among the targets, along with infrastructure on the Danube River. DTEK said Russian strikes halted operations at three thermal plants.
