About 500 Houthi fighters and field commanders were described as “neutralized” during a 24-hour period involving 1,272 operations, Yemen army spokesman Col. Majed Abdullah al-Nuzaili said Sunday on X.
In his Nov. 1 post, al-Nuzaili identified Houthi gatherings, reinforcements, fortifications, firing positions, and assets used for movement and supply as targets. He said the count covered 169 vehicles, equipment items and heavy weapons; all were reported destroyed or disabled.
Anadolu Agency has previously explained that Yemen’s military uses “neutralized” for fighters killed or wounded.
Anadolu reported that Operation Dawn of Yemen began Oct. 5. Presidential Leadership Council Chairman Rashad al-Alimi said the campaign aims to recover state institutions and retake Sanaa. EconoTimes previously covered an earlier army claim of 307 fighters neutralized in 736 operations.
An Oct. 21 statement from Yemen’s armed forces, published by Yemen News Agency Saba, reported 835 operations and about 285 Houthi members and leaders neutralized. The army said the campaign aimed to disrupt Houthi movements.
