Yemen’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Dr. Afrah Al-Zouba said military operations against the Houthis would continue until their objectives are achieved and the group is disarmed, after years of negotiations.

Al-Zouba made the remarks on Oct. 24, according to Anadolu Agency. She said the Houthis had used talks to continue arming and cited negotiation rounds in 2016, 2018, 2022, 2024 and 2025, including the Stockholm Agreement.

In a separate Oct. 16 statement, Yemen’s Foreign Ministry said political efforts that do not address the conflict’s underlying causes could leave room for Houthi rearmament and endanger Yemen and neighboring countries.

The ministry described Operation “Dawn of Yemen” as a campaign led by Yemeni forces under a unified command, with air support from the Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen. Its stated aims include restoring state authority, protecting civilians, securing maritime navigation and supporting a lasting political settlement.

For Taiz, Al-Zouba urged reopening roads so residents could obtain food, water and other necessities and patients could reach medical care. She also called for fuel to keep health facilities and water services running, the ministry said.
