Yemen’s armed forces reported 875 operations against Houthi forces Saturday, claiming about 130 commanders and fighters were neutralized as Operation Dawn of Yemen continued on several fronts.

The military’s preliminary field estimates put the number of Houthi commanders and fighters it “neutralized” at about 130. It also said about 50 military assets, including vehicles and missile launchers, were destroyed or disabled.

The statement did not separate the 130 into commanders and fighters or say how many were killed or wounded. It used “neutralized” without defining the outcome.

Aircraft, drones and artillery supported the campaign. The military said its targets included Houthi gatherings and reinforcements, along with positions, firing sites and equipment.

In Taiz, government forces and Popular Resistance units repelled further Houthi attacks, the statement said. It also cited activity on southern and western fronts and near Marib and Al-Jawf.

Al Jazeera said it could not independently verify the military’s claims. EconoTimes previously reported a separate army tally of 1,208 operations targeting Houthi positions, which did not specify the period covered.

The military said operations would continue and that it was taking steps to safeguard civilians and civilian infrastructure.
