A $4.73 million liquidation tally for Zcash over the 24 hours through Saturday afternoon was dominated by long positions, while ZEC was down 5.62% as of 3:26 p.m. ET (20:26 UTC).
The tally closed at 2:10 p.m. ET (19:10 UTC) Saturday, with $4.13 million in long liquidations and $601,610 in short liquidations. The long-side amount was nearly seven times the short-side total.
CoinGecko and exchange spot data put ZEC at $1,260.78 as of 3:26 p.m. ET (20:26 UTC). At 12:25 p.m. ET (17:25 UTC), it was $1,260.05 after a 7.3% decline.
A leveraged position can be forcibly closed when a trader falls short of required margin. The tally measures the value of those forced exits; it does not show anyone’s final trading outcome.
At block 3,543,405, NU7 lowered Zcash’s target time between blocks from 75 seconds to 25 seconds. The upgrade set aside 60% of fees for future rewards and network support, and reduced the computing work needed to detect incoming private payments.
A separate EconoTimes liquidation snapshot showed a different balance during another hour, with $1.61 million in long liquidations and $60,000 in short liquidations.
