Zcash’s proposed NU7 upgrade had a Nov. 5 mainnet target in its published timeline, conditional on a height-setting decision, while its draft still listed the activation height as “TBD” when checked Oct. 20.

The deployment draft designated Oct. 20 as the date for setting the mainnet height. The published timeline made the Nov. 5 target subject to that decision.

ZIP-218 proposes reducing the target time between blocks to 25 seconds from 75 seconds. It says faster confirmations are intended to support payments, deposits and cross-chain operations.

The document also limits how many Sprout and Sapling outputs can be included in each block. It cites Blossom, an earlier Zcash upgrade that reduced the target interval from 150 seconds to 75 seconds, as precedent.
