Dr. Suman Lodh joined Middlesex Business School in 2012. Prior to joining Middlesex, he held a visiting scholar position at the Lally School of Management and Technology, RPI (USA) for a year and engaged in a large research project. He also held an academic position at the University of Surrey. He attended workshops by David M. Drukkar (STATA Corp.) and Badi Baltagi (Syracuse University, USA). He has several years of industry and teaching experience in India at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
Suman's research interests include Financial Econometrics, Corporate Finance, Corporate Governance, Earnings Management, Mergers and Acquisitions, Industrial Organizations (including knowledge spillovers), Foreign Direct Investment, Emerging Markets and Banking.
He has held position of independent reviewer of a number of PhD thesis. He has also supervised a number of MSc dissertations in the areas mentioned above.
He received his PhD in applied economics from the University of Bergamo, Italy.
He has published in highly ranked international journals including the Corporate Governance: An International Review, International Review of Financial Analysis as well as in Industrial and Corporate Change. His research works have been presented in a number of highly rated American and European conferences including the prestigious American Accounting Association Annual Conference and European Accounting Association Annual Conference. He serves as an ad-hoc referee of several top-ranked academic journals.
