I am a labour market & welfare state researcher and Reader in Sociology and Social Policy, at the School of Social Policy, Sociology and Social Research, a part of the University of Kent, UK.
My research interest lies in explaining work-life balance and labour market insecurities of individuals through working conditions and welfare state institutions in a comparative perspective. I am also interested in gender inequalities within the labour market and in the household.
I was the Principal Investigator of an ESRC funded project that examines flexible working, its prevalent and its outcomes on a wide range of issues including work-family conflict.

I am currently working on a Government Equalities Office Funded project examining how shared child care between mothers and fathers in hetrosexual couple household lead to a wide range of well-being outcomes for the family.
