I am an emeritus professor of sociology at Texas A&M University. I have been a sociology and demography professor for almost 50 years. I served on the faculties of the University of Texas at Austin, Cornell University, and, since 1992, Texas A&M University. I am a demographer and conduct research in several areas, including the demography of race and ethnicity, international migration, and the demography of sexual minorities. In much of my research I pay special attention to the political and social implications of the results and their trends. At Texas A&M, I taught undergraduate classes in demography and graduate classes in statistics, demographic methods, and demography.
