In 2016 she received a Bachelor in Nutrition and Dietetics with First Class Honours from Griffith University and is currently undertaking her PhD in the field of nutritional science. Emily also completed a Bachelor in Mass Communication (majoring in International Journalism and Public Relations) from the Queensland University of Technology in 2011.
