Deborah Vollmer Dahlke

Adjunct Associate Professor, Texas A&M University
Deborah Volmer Dahlke is Adjunct Assistant Professor at the Texas A&M School of Public Health and a Senior Fellow in the Texas A&M University-wide Center for Population Health and Aging. She is involved in designing, developing and evaluating mHealth applications including accessibility and usability analyses for technologies focused on cancer survivors and those with chronic disease. Her work in mobile technology extends across the life course and includes the use of voice-activated technology and AI by the disabled and older adults.

Deborah is a Director with the Texas Life Science Foundation and a leader in helping to develop Texas’ biotech ecosystem. Deborah was the founding Director for the Research Valley Innovation Center, a biotech and clean energy incubator where she developed the Texas BioLocator app. She has served on the Cancer Alliance of Texas’s (CAT) Executive Committee from 2004 to the present, was Chair from 2012-2014, and she is one of the authors of the current Texas Cancer Plan. At the Texas A&M School of Public Health, Deborah designed and developed AYA Healthy Survivorship, a mobile web and iOS app, www.MyHealthFinder.org, a mobile web and iOS/Android app and www.HealthySurvivorship.org. Currently, Deborah is an editor for the Journal of Medical Internet Research’s (JMIR) Cancer Journal and serves as a reviewer for JMIR’s other journals and the Journal of Adolescent and Young Adult Oncology. She also reviews grant applications for Susan G. Komen foundation and PCORI.
