I am a Marie Sklodowska-Curie Post-doctoral Fellow at the Department of Media, Culture, and Heritage, School of Arts and Cultures at Newcastle University upon Tyne. My current project offers a comparative perspective on women, politics and media framing in the UK and in Israel, focusing on 50 years of media coverage of women candidates for Prime Minister in both countries. This project is funded by the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No 795552, and it is mentored by Professor Karen Ross.

I hold A PhD in Political Science from Tel-Aviv University; formerly a Sophie Davis Post-doctoral Fellow in Gender, Conflict Resolution and Peace at the Davis Institute for International Relations, Hebrew University. My PhD dissertation examined the relationships between feminism, media framing of women and politics and the gender gap in voting in Israel over time.

My previous publications focus mainly on issues of gender, media framing of women and politics, public opinion, voting and intra-party politics.

I have been awarded several academic scholarships and awards, including: the 2017 Best Dissertation Award of the Israeli Political Science Association and the Na’amat doctoral research grant.

I have been an active member of the “Gender Gap in Voting” research group at “Shavot” centre for the Advancement of Women in the Public Sphere (WIPS) at Van-Leer Institute in Jerusalem.
