Dr. Inaya Rakhmani is Assistant Professor and Head of the International Communication Class at the Department of Communication, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Indonesia. She is also a member of the Indonesian Young Academy of Sciences (ALMI) and adjunct at the Demographic Institute, Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Indonesia. She has a specific interest in critical cultural political economy—or the way culture is instrumental in hindering and enabling the structural redistribution of wealth and access. Her latest article is “Reproducing Academic Insularity in a Time of Neo-liberal Markets: The Case of Social Science Research in Indonesian State Universities” published at the Journal of Contemporary Asia.
