I did a PhD in organizational behaviour at Yale and went from there to a faculty position at what is now the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto. I was eventually appointed Magna Professor of Business Strategy in the School and served as Dean from 1992 to 1995. I then spent five years in full-time consulting, and also served a period as Chief Human Resources Officer at Ontario Power Generation. I now hold an appointment as Adjunct Professor of Organizational Behaviour at Rotman where I teach in the MBA and Executive Programs. I am also currently serving as Special Advisor to the Dean on Executive Education at Rotman. Throughout my career I have continued to work on consulting assignments with many clients in the public and private sectors on issues of leadership, organization, strategy and governance.
